Porsche 911 GT3 RS 2015 review - Faster than a Ferrari 458 Speciale? Watch to find out - MPG and running costs

Breathtakingly exciting and the most communicative 991 yet, the latest GT3 RS is a triumph

Evo rating
Price
from £131,296
  • Pace; grip; best steering yet in a 991; motorsport-inspired styling
  • Engine lacks the last 500rpm flourish of the regular GT3; PDK-only

It’s fair to suggest that fuel consumption probably won’t be a priority for 991 GT3 RS owners. If you’re interested however, the combined fuel economy figure is 22.2mpg. Since the RS makes little to no concessions towards economy, it’s likely you’ll actually match or beat this figure in regular driving – but hitting it on track may be more difficult. By some way of comparison, a 991 Turbo S achieves 29.1mpg in the same tests.

Similarly, a CO2 figure of 296g/km won’t win any prizes, and will land owners with a £1100 first-year vehicle tax bill and £495 per year thereafter. Insurance is in the top group 50 band, it requires premium fuel, and will no doubt require more intensive maintenance than a common-or-garden 911 Carrera.
