MPG and running costs

By turning to turbocharging the new C63 is significantly less profligate than the previous model. Where the naturally-aspirated car guzzled fossil fuels at the rate of one gallon every 23.5 miles, the latest car will take you a whole 11 miles further according to Mercedes.

Its carbon dioxide emissions have dropped accordingly – 192g/km won’t placate the greens but it’s still a significant improvement on the 280g/km exhaled by the previous car. The estate records figures of 33.6mpg and 196g/km, while both bodystyles sit in the group J VED band. That’s a hefty £485 in tax in the first year, £265 per annum thereafter.
