Watch - Porsche 911 re-imagined by Singer review

We sample a 911 customised by Singer on UK roads for the first time. Do cars get any better than this?

It's no secret that contributing editor Dickie Meaden is a fan of old 911s - his much loved 964 RS serves to prove this - but this 911 is no like no other. For starters, it's been completely customised - or re-imagined - by Singer Vehicle Design. And like every other 911 that leaves Singer's California base, almost every new detail is completely bespoke to that car.

You may have already read about this particular car as it featured in our December issue (evo 215), but this is your first chance to hear its highly-strung flat-six in action. Dickie describes it as howling to its limiter 'with an urgency unlike any large-capacity flat-six that's ever sat in a 911 road car'. It's potent too, as it produces a peak of 360bhp and 282lb ft of torque, accelerating the 1200kg re-imagined 911 to 60mph in an estimated 3.6sec. That's supercar pace in a jaw-droppingly gorgeous package.

You can lose as much time examining the car's finer details (shown in our gallery) as you can actually driving it. So in this new video, enjoy what is quite possibly one of the most wonderful machines to have ever graced a road. And let us know in the comments below, does it really get any better than this?
