Nissan GT-R and McLaren F1 GTR on track video

Supercars on track as evo's long term Nissan GT-R chases a McLaren F1 GTR at Thruxton

Nissan GT-R

This is a video of the (in)famous 'Godzilla 2' Nissan GT-R tackling a damp Thruxton race track during the 2010 Wilton House Supercar Day. Lightly modified with an Akrapovic titanium exhaust, Cobb air intake, Injector Dynamics 1000cc/min fuel injectors and a GTC custom remap, Godzilla 2 has been rolling road tested at 612hp/620lb ft and has done a standing mile in 28.0s @ 180.7mph as well as an indicated 205mph on the autobahn. Whilst this track outing was a bit of fun for participants of the Supercar Day and not a full-on trackday, David Yu had lots of fun mixing it with the Vipers, Corvettes, Porsches and Ferraris out on track, and especially the stunning McLaren F1 GTR race car he catches up with in this vid. Although neither car was being pushed to their respective limits, there is a brief moment of full throttle when the car up front gets out of the way (4:08 min into the vid) and despite David being caught napping in 4th gear, there doesn’t appear to be as big a difference in performance as one might expect! This GT-R is featured monthly in evo’s Fast Fleet and on www.auto-journals.com
