BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition boosts power to 493bhp

200 unit limited run model celebrates BMW's DTM 2016 driver's title win

BMW has unveield the DTM Champion Edition M4, complete with a huge rear wing, a BMW M colour sticker kit and a power boost up to 493bhp.

Effectively an M4 GTS but with a different set of decals, the DTM special uses the same water injection technology and has a 0-62mph time of 3.8 seconds. The car also comes with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres and the quite frankly ludicrous titanium exhaust system found on the GTS.

The sticker and aero kit is said to mimic DTM race cars, which carries on inside with a stripped out interior and M Carbon bucket seats are used. Everything inside is Alcantara covered, while the rear seats have been removed and replaced with a white roll bar.

Other technology includes adaptive LED headlights and OLED taillights, as well as park distance control front and rear.

In essence, an M4 GTS but in different livery, the 200 run car will be on sale worldwide with a price listed at 148,500 euros. That's £134,263 at today's exchange rate.

BMW has produced the limited run M4 to celebrate its latest DTM championship win, with driver Marco Wittmann claiming the driver's title at Hockenheimring.

The M4 GTS is a bit of an evo favourite, awarded a full five stars and praised for its much improved dynamics over the standard M4, this DTM edition could be another way to get your hands on one of the limited-run cars.
