Lotus Evora S GP Edition revealed

Lotus reveals another Evora special edition, the Evora S GP, inspired by the team's Formula 1 cars

Lotus has unveiled its Evora S GP, a special edition inspired by its performance in the 2011 Formula 1 season. It follows from other recent special edition Evoras (note the Evora Freddie Mercury Edition) and now features a paint scheme heavily inspired by the 2011 Lotus Formula 1 car, which is in turn a throwback to the classic John Player Special livery of the 1970s. Disappointingly, the car’s modifications are purely cosmetic and the Evora S GP features the standard supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine. It produces 345bhp and 295lb ft of torque, resulting in a 0-62mph time of 4.8sec and 177mph top speed. The price rises from £64,190 to £69,950, a somewhat sharp increase (especially when the brand new 991-generation Porsche 911 Carrera will cost £71,000), although exclusivity is key to the Lotus’s appeal; just three models are rumoured to being made. The standard equipment list includes Lotus’s Premium Pack, Technology Pack and a reversing camera. Click here if you’d like to be one of the three GP owners
