New Jaguar XJ performance packs

Jaguar XJ gains new Sport and Speed packs; more aggressive styling, new alloys, upped 174mph top speed

Jaguar has launched new performance options for its XJ sports saloon. A Speed Pack ups the XJ Supersport’s electronic limiter from 155 to 174mph, while a Sport Pack adds aggression to the interior and exterior styling for the rest of the range.

The Sport Pack is available on all non-supercharged XJs, and consists of new 20in ‘Venom’ alloy wheels, red brake calipers, sports seats and a host of new interior trim options. There are also cosmetic tweaks on the outside which boost the XJ’s aerodynamic behaviour to make it more stable at speed; there’s a splitter beneath the front bumper and an extended bootlid at the rear, the result being reduced lift.

These tweaks allow the 503bhp supercharged V8-equipped XJ Supersport to have its limited top speed to rise to 174mph via the Speed Pack, which is your only option on top spec cars and incorporates the Sport Pack’s changes. No extra power is needed to yield the extra 19mph, just a few ECU modifications and adjustments to the virtual instrument display and tyre pressure monitoring system.

The options are available on both regular and long wheelbase XJs. Prices vary depending on your choice of XJ, but begin at £800 for interior tweaks or £1645 for the exterior Sport Pack. Speed Pack prices kick off at £3445. Order books are open now.
